In the ultimate display of workplace pettiness, local 5th grade teacher Mrs. Anderson, handed out detention to popular 6th grade teacher Mrs. Summer.
“That Bitch!” exclaimed Summer, while waving a pink detention slip in the air. “I can’t believe that conniving bitch! Who does that?” Mrs. Summer shrilled from behind the suffocating stuffiness of the middle school detention hall.
Anderson’s red eyes contrasted starkly with the smoky haze of students smacking erasers & the sharp clap of ruler-smacking-hand pierced the air when I approached Mrs. Anderson for questioning.
“She broke a rule!” belted out Anderson. “She never reports kids coming late to class! I won’t have it!”
I pressed Anderson for more substance.
“I don’t see why she’s so popular! That detention ought to teach her a lesson!”
I raised a curious hand to ask one more question when she returned my gesture with a pink detention slip of my own.
The crime?
Too many questions.
As I report live from detention hall, I can confirm Mrs. Summer’s suspicions that Mrs. Anderson is indeed a conniving bitch.

I could give you some teacher stories from another time. Sadly, they would not be satire but all too real.
I had very good teachers. Or at least to find peace in my life I choose to believe that I had very good teachers. I had very good teachers. Say this ten thousand times and drink lots of water and piss your real memories away. (okay, but I did have some good teachers.)

I went back to a school a couple of years ago. I’ve had some teachers who were wonderful, and some that I just wanted to throw my school book at. I had one smart-mouthed professor who I got into an argument with because he didn’t want to be asked “dumb” questions. I told him he was rude and needed to be more welcoming to all his students’ questions regardless.
Funny thing is this was the first day I had ever met him . I decided to apologize to him at the end of class, since this guy could make or break my grade. And he actually apologized to me as well. So, I was satisfied but always on edge around him for the remainder of the semester.
