About Tony’s Bologna

You’re probably wondering…

Who in the hell is Tony?

And what in the hell does he write about?

Well…

My name is Tony, and I like writing comedic short fiction, marketing advice that actually works, and funny personal development stories on my 10-year-old blog, tonysbologna.com.

The details:

In all seriousness, I’m a:

Best-selling author, humorist, senior copywriter, and small business owner.

Sorry for the mouthful.

All of the jobs I’ve ever had revolved around one thing: “Words.

How to write them. How to say them, and how to use them to make connections. It has become my livelihood.

I started off my career doing something I never thought I would do, sales.

As someone who was shy, short, and soft-skinned, the constant rejection I faced during outside sales was perhaps the best therapist I ever had.

It turned an introvert into an extrovert. It made a weak man strong. It taught me about human nature and was the single best training for copywriting I ever had.

Over the course of my sales career, I’ve sold to hundreds of companies, been rejected thousands of times, and tallied up millions of dollars in sales. While I loved the thrill of selling and the people I met – I needed an escape. It was writing –the only way for me to make sense of the chaos.

I started writing comedy in 2015, and I haven’t looked back since. Once I learned you could get paid to sell through writing – I made the switch to copywriting- it was the best decision I ever made.

Chances are, you may have read and even thrown away my work. I’m the guy responsible for the junk mail from one of America’s largest companies.

Today, I’m a marketing manager and own a freelance copywriting business. But at my core, I’m the same guy I’ve always been –

A comedian at heart whose favorite thing is a well-timed joke or an ill-timed fart.

When writing, I focus on three main topics:

Stories to make you laugh.

Stories to help you live better.

Stories to make you more persuasive.

And sometimes all three at the same time 😉

At the end of the day, I’m trying to do the best I can with the tools I got, and I try to bring all facets of me to the paper… not just a specific niche.

My big dream is to make it as a fiction author, and I’d love to have you along for the ride.

That said, thank you so much for reading, I can’t tell you how much it makes my day.

You rock.

– Tony

  1. Thank you for liking my poem Sing A Song Of Slick Men. It is one of my little stash of Worsery Rhymes. Sing it to the music of that one about four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.

Glad you enjoy my writing! I found you by searching tags, in particular weird. You’re great at poetry and write about things people don’t normally see which is awesome. Keep up the good work.

In fact, your blog is so good I am going to put it on my monitor and take a selfie of me in front of it while eating a cheeseburger I made. Then I will post a complaint that you should have have had a fourth douch and since you didn’t, you suck. Great stuff, thanks for the laughs..
